The TriggerFish ROV Kit gives students a hands-on introduction to advanced piloting with joystick-based control. Built for up to 15 amps, this kit provides reliable performance while teaching the principles of underwater robotics, power systems, and engineering design.
The control system is enclosed in a compact Seahorse brand protective case. Two analog joysticks make piloting intuitive and engaging. One joystick manages forward, reverse, and turning, while the other handles vertical and sideways movement. With variable speed control, students can ease the joystick forward for slow movement or push fully for maximum thrust.
The TriggerFish is also video-ready, offering two video input channels and simple power connections for monitors or cameras. A volt and ammeter, along with multiple LED indicators, provide clear feedback on vehicle status, making troubleshooting straightforward. Modular connections ensure TriggerFish control boxes and vehicles are interchangeable, adding flexibility to classroom use.
Thrusters, wiring, and a control system are included, while the frame is left open for students to design using locally sourced materials. This approach encourages creativity and problem-solving as students build their own functional underwater robot.
