The PufferFish ROV Kit combines hands-on learning with real engineering skills, featuring a durable control system, LED indicators, and soldering practice which is perfect for advancing students in underwater robotics.
The PufferFish ROV Kit helps students move beyond the basics of underwater robotics by combining creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on technical skills. With its enclosed control system and student-friendly design, this kit makes operating, troubleshooting, and customizing an ROV straightforward and engaging.
The control system is housed in a compact, durable box with an O-ring seal and a clear top sized for younger hands. LED indicators display motor direction and power, while the built-in amp/volt meter supports simple monitoring and troubleshooting. Rocker switches are rugged, easy to replace, and not soldered to the board. The circuit board also includes a power filter, allowing students to safely connect add-on tools such as cameras.
This kit requires soldering components onto a printed circuit board, giving students valuable experience in electrical assembly. It is also semi-reusable. The completed control board can be removed and replaced with a new one, extending the life of the system for long-term classroom use.
The PufferFish ROV Kit is ideal for classrooms, workshops, and STEM programs that want to advance students from introductory builds into more challenging, skill-focused projects.
